1. Introduction
Welcome to AI Coach for Xiaomi Watch 5 ("the App", "we", "us", or "our").
This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
By downloading or using the App you agree to this policy. If you do not agree, please uninstall the App.
This App is an independent third-party companion and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or officially
connected to Xiaomi, Google, or any smartwatch manufacturer.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide Directly
AI Chat Messages: Text you type in the AI chat screen is sent to our secure backend API to generate a response. We do not link these messages to any personal identity.
No account or registration is required. We never ask for your name, email, or password.
2.2 Information Stored Locally on Your Device
Bookmarks: Tips and watch faces you save are stored only on your device using Android SharedPreferences. This data never leaves your device.
App preferences: Settings such as notification preferences are stored locally.
2.3 Information Collected Automatically
Device Information: Device model, OS version, app version, screen size, and language — used for crash diagnostics and compatibility.
Usage Analytics: Anonymous data about which screens are visited and which features are used, collected via Firebase Analytics.
Crash Reports: Stack traces and error logs collected via Firebase Crashlytics to fix bugs.
Advertising Identifiers: Google Advertising ID (GAID) used by Google AdMob to show relevant advertisements.
Push Notification Token: A device token generated by OneSignal to deliver scheduled tip notifications. This token does not contain personal information.
3. How We Use Your Information
To provide AI coaching responses to your questions about the Xiaomi Watch 5.
To display relevant advertisements that help keep the App free.
To send scheduled tip notifications (every 2 days) if you grant notification permission.
To analyze crashes and fix bugs so the App stays stable.
To understand which features are most useful (anonymous, aggregated analytics only).
To fetch watch face content and remote configuration from our servers.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
4. Third-Party Services
The App integrates the following third-party SDKs and services. Each has its own privacy policy.
Google Firebase Analytics & Crashlytics
Collects anonymous usage and crash data. No personally identifiable information is sent.
Shows banner, interstitial, and app-open advertisements. May use your Advertising ID to show
personalized ads. You can opt out of personalized ads in your device settings under
Google > Ads > Opt out of Ads Personalization.
Used to deliver scheduled tip notifications. OneSignal assigns an anonymous device token;
it does not receive your name or email. You can revoke notification permission at any time
in Android Settings.
Your chat messages are forwarded to our secure backend to generate AI responses.
Requests are authenticated with a time-based hash key; no personal data is attached to the request.
Chat messages are not stored permanently on our servers.
5. Advertising & Ad Choices
The App displays ads served by Google AdMob. Ads may be personalized based on your interests
using the Google Advertising ID. You can control ad personalization:
Android 12+: Settings → Privacy → Ads → Delete advertising ID or opt out.
Android < 12: Google Settings → Ads → Opt out of Ads Personalization.
The App shows a consent dialog on first launch in regions covered by GDPR/CCPA
so you can choose whether to receive personalized or non-personalized ads.
6. App Permissions
INTERNET
Required to fetch AI responses, watch face images, and remote configuration from our servers, and to load ads.
POST_NOTIFICATIONS (Android 13+)
Required to send scheduled tip notifications. The App requests this permission at runtime and will work normally without it — you simply will not receive tip reminders.
RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED
Used to reschedule local tip notifications after a device reboot, so reminders continue without you reopening the App.
7. Data Retention
Bookmarks & preferences: Kept on your device until you uninstall the App or clear its data.
Analytics & crash data: Retained by Firebase per their standard retention schedule (up to 14 months for analytics events).
Chat messages: Transmitted to our API in real time and not stored beyond the time needed to generate a response (session only).
Notification tokens: Retained by OneSignal as long as the App is installed and notifications are enabled.
8. Data Security
We take reasonable technical measures to protect data in transit and at rest:
All network communication uses HTTPS/TLS.
API requests are authenticated with a time-based hash to prevent replay attacks.
We do not store sensitive personal information on our servers.
No method of electronic transmission is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security,
but we are committed to protecting the data we handle.
9. Children's Privacy
This App is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or 16 where applicable under GDPR).
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided
us with personal data, please contact us at

10. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights:
Access & Portability: Request a copy of data we hold about you.
Deletion: Request deletion of your data. Because we collect minimal data and most is stored locally on your device, uninstalling the App effectively deletes your data.
Opt-out of personalized ads: Use the device-level control described in Section 5.
Withdraw notification consent: Disable notifications for the App in Android Settings at any time.
GDPR (EEA/UK): You may lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
CCPA (California): We do not sell personal information. California residents may submit requests to the contact below.
The Watch Faces Gallery displays content fetched from our server. Download links may point to
third-party hosting. Once you leave the App to download or install a watch face, you are subject
to that third party's own privacy policy and terms. We are not responsible for third-party content.
12. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the Last Updated
date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of
the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
